BitePath is a daily meal planner that helps you eat within your calorie and budget goals by showing nearby restaurants with menu items that fit your constraints. The app uses your location to find restaurants near your home, workplace, or a custom location you provide.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name you choose. We use Supabase Authentication to manage accounts. Your password is hashed and never stored in plain text.
Location data: You provide your home and work addresses through the app's setup screen. These addresses are converted to coordinates and used to search for nearby restaurants via the Google Places API. We do not track your location in the background. Location data is only used when you actively plan meals.
Meal planning data: The app stores your daily calorie goal, budget goal, dietary preferences, and the meals you select each day. This data is stored in your user profile on Supabase and is used solely to power the meal planning features.
Cached search results: To reduce API costs and improve performance, we temporarily cache restaurant search results associated with your account. Cached data expires after 7 days and is automatically refreshed.
We do not collect or store payment information, health records, precise real-time GPS location, contacts, photos, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or any data from other apps on your device.
Your data is used exclusively to provide the BitePath meal planning service. Specifically, we use it to search for restaurants near your provided addresses, filter menu items based on your calorie and budget constraints, track your daily meal progress, and save your preferences between sessions.
Supabase: Provides our database, authentication, and backend infrastructure. Supabase stores your account data, meal plans, and cached search results. Supabase's privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.
Google Places API: We send your provided location coordinates to Google to search for nearby restaurants. Google receives the coordinates but not your identity or account information. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Your data is stored on Supabase's cloud infrastructure with row-level security policies that ensure you can only access your own data. All data transmission between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
Your data is retained as long as you maintain an active BitePath account. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email address below. Upon receiving a deletion request, we will remove your account and all associated data within 30 days.
BitePath is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
